    German mining machinery exports to the Kingdom are more than $ 2 billion. A German trade delegation reviews investment opportunities with the business sector in Asharqia Chamber.

     

    The Secretary-General of Asharqia Chamber of Commerce, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, reviewed the investment opportunities in the Eastern Region during a meeting with a German trade delegation on Tuesday morning at the headquarter of the Chamber in Dammam.

    Oliver Oehms, Director of the German Liaison Office for Economic Affairs, chaired the meeting with the presence of Klaus Shtokman, Vice President of the Federation of Engineers and Mechanics of Germany. Al-Wabil spoke about the participation of the business sector in both countries and on the importance of the region, which is the center of petrochemical industries in the Kingdom. He also reviewed the investment opportunities and the most prominent international companies operating in the cities of Jubail 1 and 2, in addition to the huge investments witnessed by the city of Ras Al Khair.

    Al-Wabil urged businessmen in Germany to discuss partnerships with the business sector in the region, especially that the Eastern Region has many distinctive partnerships and investment opportunities. In addition, He called in enhancing the exchange of trade delegations between the two countries. He also asked for the establishment of exhibitions catalogs that will highlight the products, industries, and services provided by companies and facilitate the investors to draw up their business plans and their future investments.

    For his side, Oliver Oehms said that the eastern region is an attractive destination for German companies as he pointed to the participation of Germany in various delegations during the past years. Asharqia Chamber has witnessed numerous visits from German delegations keen to identify the business sector, projects, and ideas that German companies can participate in and provide various services in the fields of medical, oil, engineering, as well as in the field of electronic business. He pointed out that the delegation reviewed during this participation (in addition to those specialties) the offer of services of centrifugal pumps, construction machinery, supply chain solutions and automation.

    Shtokman said that the exports of German machinery and equipment in the mining sector to the Kingdom amounted to more than $ 2 billion during the past years. He added that German suppliers not only supply high-tech equipment, but also have good experience in mining, processing and transporting various goods.​
